 The Topexpert TX EVENT Cruise package is a solution for PDAs on board and virtual guided tours used on cruise ships, tours and hotels. The idea is, that the guest can rent a multilingual PDA on the ship, in the hotel or from the tour operator for information, entertainment and work. After starting a rented PDA device, online and offline information is available. An integrated accounting for internet access, audio / video / game on demand services or phone service is optional if the ship has defined individual fees. If WLAN is available the PDAs connect to the TX EVENT server. Videos, games and audio can be started in streaming mode. Such online areas could be provided in the rooms, at the swimming pool, in restaurants and other places. All data can be provided from the local server, managed remotely. When guests disembark for sightseeing tours, the PDA as an offline system, providing information for the locations visited. Video, text, sound pictures and 360° views are available along with a navigation program. Individual data from the cruise ship can be integrated into a standard address database to provide information for tours, point of interests or restaurants. There are many other options available to the open system, such as integrated digital camera with email service, a GSM or IP phone service (if an IP phone system is installed), audio guided tours or integration of cruise ship data and applications.
